CHD / Retention
November! Time to start or to review your holiday events at the lodge. Making sure they are on stream for success. This is a perfect time to bring in your members who are due or have dropped their membership back to your lodge. Retention and appreciation of members is so valuable to your lodge’s growth and continued success. I will be setting up my future travel plans. When I receive the list of district and CHD meetings from our state board or your Council of Higher Degree board, please send your dates to me ASAP. Hopefully, every lodge has realized the importance of membership retention and how “the road to lodge growth is paved with retention.” Easy example—the lodge has 10 dues through important retention follow-up and membership appreciation. The lodge has 10 due renews 8 – now you only need 3 to grow. Without retention, this same lodge would need 11 (not 3) to grow. An idea, guys and gals to help with your retention: when you “Just Ask” and enroll a new member, if possible, offer some type of financial incentive to have the new member sign up for two or more years! You just helped your following years’ retention program.
Any help, I will be pleased to give; feel free to ask. I will try very hard to help in any way with your retention goals.
Sincerely,
Dennis Dost – CHD / Retention WMA Chairman
